Palm Sunday

“Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of Yahweh!” 🌴

Hosanna = a declaration of praise. Hebrew root words yasha (“deliver, save”) and anna (“beg, beseech”) combine to form the word that in English literally means “I beg you to save!” or “please deliver us!”

Palm trees and leaves have such significance in the Bible. They’re referenced many times.

Bible Study Tip:

Try using the YouVersion Bible App (and let's be friends) and type in a keyword to pull up all references to that word. This is a great way for a quick study, easy reference, and a wonderful tool for reference.

Most Bibles have a dictionary/concordance at the back. I personally recommend using the good 'ol fashioned paper Bible for personal study. Let Holy Spirit take you on a personalized adventure of revelation through the pages. Yes, it takes more time...but quality relationships require intentional time.

For example, Palm Trees are mentioned in 1 Kings 6:29 including being carved into the walls and doors of the Temple. Psalm 92:12, “The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree.”

Today we celebrate Jesus’ prophetic entry into Jerusalem and the beginning of Holy Week, the final days of Jesus’ life on earth.
