In the midst of emotional exhaustion for their suffering, the Lord spoke to me. I was reminded of the story of the woman who poured out her alabaster jar of perfume (or oil) on Jesus. I happen to like the detailed account as found in Mark 14:3-10:

Are you willing to adopt the mindset of Christ whether you’re single, dating or in a marriage relationship? Are you willing to wait patiently as God continues to develop the fruits of the Spirit both in you and in your anointed life partner?

Have you ever walked by somebody and was pleasantly captivated by their alluring scent? On the contrary, I'm sure you've walked past someone with an overwhelming stench that seemed to grab you by the back of your throat and make you want to gag or throw up! 

Scent is powerful! Because I am a psychology and neuroscience nerd, I have learned that the part of the brain that processes smell interacts with the region of the brain responsible for storing emotional memories. 

The blessing and the burdens of being in obscurity (hidden, unknown) versus notoriety (being famous, well-known and popular). What can we learn from a Biblical perspective?
